Helping You Change the World

serve locally

North County Abolitionists

Human trafficking is not just happening internationally. It is here in the US and even in our small towns and communities. The North County Abolitionists are bringing awareness and education about human trafficking and its local presence to north San Luis Obispo County. This group hosts quarterly documentary films in the community to shed light on this terrible reality. In addition, the group offers training on how to spot signs of trafficking, and survivor resources. They meet weekly to plan and pray. Email for more info.

Can you sew? It may be fast becoming a lost art, but a love of sewing can be put to good and effective use for the Kingdom! {em} would like to introduce you to Hope 4 Women International, a Christ-centered non-profit that founded the Dress-A-Girl program in 2009. Since then, people from around the world are sewing simple sun dresses. Why? By giving a girl a new dress you not only give her dignity, you could be changing her destiny. Dress a Girl Around the World provides patterns, ways to be involved and opportunities for you to deliver or to help fund the delivery of dresses to girls around the world. Through the Tehachapi Chapter, {em} has already delivered dresses to little girls in Costa Rica, India, and Philippines! Together we really are dressing girls around the world, and we'd love to start a chapter here on the Central Coast. To find out more email Janet at

Tunnel Vision Church

Tunnel Vision Church began when a couple guys decided to make breakfast burritos one Sunday morning for the homeless in Sunken Gardens Park. Through love and consistency — and simple discipleship principles (see EZRA Journey) — soon a church was born. If you have a heart to see the homeless find Jesus, join us! Contact for more info.

ECHO Shelter

El Camino Homeless Outreach (the only homeless shelter in North San Luis Obispo County) is always in need of volunteers. A wide variety of opportunities for involvement exist. Check their website for more info by clicking HERE.

International Bible Study

Encourage one of Global Sharing's international ministry partners by studying the Bible together. GS staff members facilitate small group Bible studies over SKYPE with ministry leaders all over the world. These studies are a time of refreshment and encouragement to our ministry partners as well as the people who participate in them. We currently have studies going with Mexico and India and our team will be starting a study with our African partners soon. Contact for more info or to plug into a study time.

Because Justice Matters

Our Ministry Partner BJM is always looking for interns to serve at The Well in San Francisco. This neighborhood drop-in center serves the local women and girls that live in the Tenderloin. They offer dance classes, art, mom's lunch, nail day, and more. Interns will grow in leadership skills and in their faith as they learn about the complexity of ministry in this inner-city context. Click HERE for more info or to apply.
